BILBERRY

Bilberry belongs to a primarily Eurasian species of low-growing shrubs commonly found in Europe, America and Canadian Rocky Mountains. It is of the same family as cranberry and is widely used for medical purposes.

Bilberry contains the natural dark pigment anthocyanins, a kind of bioflavonoids. Its colour is much darker than blueberry. Anthocyanins are a strong antioxidant which provide a powerful anti-oxidizing effect to eyes and strengthen the capillary of eyes. It can keep the optic nerve healthy and delay eye degeneration. Moreover, anthocyanins can stimulate rhodopsin regeneration. The main role of rhodopsin is to maintain nerve transmission of eyes and thus provide better vision. Anthocyanins can prevent eye diseases especially retina problems, e.g. macular degeneration, myopia (short sight) and hyperopia (long sight). Bilberry not only contains anthocyanins, it also contains Vitamins A, C, E and other minerals. They are strong antioxidant which can provide strong protection to eyes and delay eye aging. They can also strengthen the immune system and promote health.
